terms and Conditions

The Chalet-H Team (“Team” or “Host”) is looking forward to welcoming you at our Luxury 5 star Three Valleys Chalet. We look forward to making your stay as comfortable as possible. Please kindly read the House Rules below.

By proceeding to booking the House Rules are deemed to be accepted by the Guest.

 

  1. DAMAGE AND SECURITY DEPOSIT: If booked through Airbnb: will be dealt according to the Airbnb policies. If Booked Direct: Damage deposit of EUR 10,000 is required for all bookings*. The Damage and Security Deposit must be paid to the Chalet-H Team upon demand, or Guest will not be allowed to enter or remain in Chalet-H. The Security Deposit may also be withheld or surrendered should Guest violate any terms of the agreement. The Security Deposit less any deductions will be returned within 5 working days of the departure date. For all bookings: If during the dates of occupancy, Guest or any occupants causes any damage to real or personal property of Chalet-H or premises because of intentional or unintentional acts, Guest must notify the Chalet-H Team of any damages prior to check out and any repairs or replacement costs are the responsibility of the Guest. Guest is responsible for extra cleaning, any missing items, damages and damage from pets (which are not allowed at the property) and smoking, including costs of allergy/flea/smoke remediation and any other violations of the House Rules (including leaving after the 11:00 am checkout time without arranging it with the Team beforehand. *Warning: The Damages are not limited to EUR 10,000 and will be sought from Guest were they to occur. Guests have to pay for damages that exceed the security deposit.

  2. NO SMOKING:  No smoking is allowed on the premises. If smoking does occur on the premises (balconies included), Guest may be evicted and is financially responsible for all damage caused by the smoking including, but not limited to, stains, burns and the cost of odour remediation and removal and replacement of damaged property.  

  3. NO PETS: Pets are prohibited. If an unauthorized pet is found on the premises, Guest may and/or pet may be evicted and Guest is responsible to remedy any and all pet damages and the cost of remediation, including pet allergen remediation, flea remediation and reimbursement to Chalet-H Team. This includes any refunds or costs necessary to relocate or compensate for the relocation of future guests until remediation is completed.   

  4. NO DRUGS: No illegal drugs are allowed on the premises.

  5. NO SHOES: No shoes inside the property apart from clean home slippers. Flip floops and slippers can be used in the SPA area. Clean closed trainers must be worn in the gym.

  6. FAMILY FRIENDLY: Suitable for toddlers and children under 12. Available at the property: 2x Pack & Play (or similar) cribs, 2 foldable highchairs, 2 baby baths. The Host takes no responsibility for the wellbeing of children whilst at the property. Adult supervision of Children is required at all times. Child is defined as a person 0-18 years old.

  7. PARTIES AND EVENTS: Any parties or events must be pre-authorised with the Chalet-H Team.

  8. JACUZZI/POOL: Keep the jacuzzi/pool cover closed at all times when not using it.

  9. FIREWOOD/FIREPLACE: An initial load of Firewood is provided free of charge (by the fireplace). Additional Firewood can be purchased at a variety of local retailers, or can be purchased from the Chalet-H Team. Fires should not be left unattended and fireplace should be closed and secured before going to bed. No accelerant/liquids should be used to start fires. Do not close the vents of the fireplace.

  10. FURNITURE: Do not re-arrange the furniture. Extra cleaning fees will be deducted if the furniture is found to have been rearranged. Leave the furniture in its original places upon departure.

  11. RUBBISH: Rubbish bins for excess trash are located in the Garage. The Team will empty the Trash twice a week. Trash to be separated into three categories: 1. Household waste 2. Cardboard and packaging materials 3. Glass.  If the Trash Cans in the Garage are not enough – dispose of your trash in public trash cans. The closest one is located 1 minute away by car on the “Route de L’Altiport. 

  12. NOISE:  The noise curfew in Meribel is statutory and is from 9pm to 7am.  This noise curfew shall be respected by the Guests.

  13. KEYS: There is a code to enter Chalet-H and this should be the primary way to enter the building.  There are also backup keys.  If you decide to use the keys, take extra care of your keys. Lost keys incur a replacement fee of EUR 500. Garage Fobs replacement key will be charged at EUR 500.

  14. HOUSEKEEPER AND CLEANING: For every 7 day stay the housekeeping service will be provided twice a week, on days 3 and 5 of the stay. For longer stays – housekeeping will be provided every 3rd day. Additional arrangements can be made with the Chalet-H Team if you would like more frequent housekeeping services.

  15. CHECK-IN: Check-in time is 3:00 PM. Early check-in can be arranged if there is not a previous rental, but is allowed only with prior written approval. Keys and entry code will be provided 24 hours before check in and only once all fees and charges have been collected.      

  16. CHECK OUT: Check out time is 11:00 AM. There is no holding over. PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL IS REQUIRED from Chalet-H Team for late check-out. A fee will be charged for each hour (or portion thereof) past the required check out time and Guest will be liable for any additional damages incurred, but not limited to the cost of supplying alternative accommodations for arriving guests. If Booked Direct, a cleaning fee of EUR 2,000 is required. If Booked on Airbnb – Airbnb Cleaning fee applies (circa EUR 3,000). CHECK OUT / CLEANING PROCEDURES: Chalet-H will be inspected, sanitized, and cleaned prior to arrival and after departure. Guest should leave Chalet-H in the same general condition at Check-In meaning:  Rubbish and discards removed or placed in the garbage bins in the Garage.  Cooking and other messes cleaned up and dishwasher started. Put back any furniture or items that have been moved (inside and outside Chalet-H).All Garage remote(s) and Key(s) to the Wine Cellar and key(s) Chalet-H to be placed on the kitchen counter. All other remote controls left in plain sight. Turn-off lights, fans, appliances, etc. Do Not turn off the heating. Make sure all doors and windows are closed and locked. The cleaning fee is for a standard cleaning only. If Chalet-H was left in a state that additional cleaning is required, fees will be charged to Guests. A EUR 500 per item fee will be charged for each missing key and EUR 500 for each garage door opener and remote control that is not left at Chalet-H upon check-out. 

  17. PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY: Short term cancellation policy (For stays under 28 nights): Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in. In addition, we offer a non-refundable option—guests pay 10% less, but the booking is non-refundable no matter when cancelled. Long-term stay cancellation policy (for stays of 28 nights and longer): Full refund if cancelled within 48 hours of booking and at least 28 days before check-in. After that, the first 30 days of the stay are non-refundable.

  18. NO REFUNDS: Even the best or newest home has equipment that may occasionally malfunction and cannot be guaranteed operational 100% of the time. The Chalet-H team promise to act immediately to remedy any issues, however, the Chalet-H team does not relocate or issue refunds due to malfunctioning equipment or any other guest dissatisfaction or due to construction noise or any other items out of our control, unless Chalet-H is considered uninhabitable.

  19. RESPONSIBLE PARTY: “Guest” is an adult at least 18 years of age and will be occupying Chalet-H during the entire reserved period unless other arrangements are approved in writing by Chalet-H Team. Guest and occupants government issued I.D. must be presented upon request. Guest assumes responsibility for the actions of all occupants and visitors to Chalet-H. No keys or entry code will be issued to anyone who is not an adult at least 18 years of age. Any reservation found to be obtained under false pretence will be subject to forfeiture of all payments and deposits and the party will be required to vacate the property immediately. 

  20. OCCUPANCY: Guest understands and agrees that Chalet-H shall be occupied by no more than the number of individuals (including children and infants) indicated on the website listing, and day/evening guests are limited to 4 persons. A fee of up to EUR 500.00 per day per person may be imposed for excess occupancy. All-day/evening guests must vacate the premises by 10:00 p.m. Should Guest wish to entertain or have more than 4 guests, Guest must obtain pre-approval by Chalet-H Team in writing.

  21. AMENITIES: Chalet-H is fully furnished, and includes ready-made beds, one set of bath towels per guest, and an equipped kitchen. Amenities and furnishings are subject to change and may or may not be the exact same as represented due to replacement, substitution, or other reasons. Chalet-H Team provides a starter kit of soaps, dish detergent, laundry soap, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, and other dispensable items. Since a limited supply is provided, Guest should plan to shop to replenish these items if necessary. Chalet-H Team assumes no responsibility for the quality or contents of any food products left on the premises and Guests use and/or consumption of the same is not recommended and shall be at Guests own risk(s). Towels and linens are not to be taken from Chalet-H. 

  22. TELEPHONES: Landline phones are not customarily provided. Emergency medical, fire and police service can be called by dialling 112 or texting 114.

  23. DISTURBANCES: Guest and their guests shall behave in a civilized manner and shall be good neighbours, respecting the rights of the surrounding neighbours, and shall not create noise or disturbances that interfere with the quiet enjoyment of their property. Outdoor noise or noise carrying outside from inside Chalet-H should be kept to a minimum regardless of the hour and in compliance with the local Noise Ordinance. 

  24. GUESTS NOTIFICATION RESPONSIBILITIES: Guest must notify Chalet-H Team upon arrival to Chalet-H. Upon arrival, Guest shall examine Chalet-H, all furniture, furnishings, appliances, fixtures, and appearance of the property, and shall report any deficiencies upon discovery. Guest also agrees to immediately notify Chalet-H Team of any occurrences that may cause damage to the property or adjacent Homes and to take any necessary measures to mitigate damage. Otherwise Guest may be responsible for damages for failure to do so. Guest acknowledges that unless Chalet-H Team is notified on the day of check-in of any damage or cleaning concerns, Guest will be liable. All damages, breakage, lost or missing items during the occupancy will be Guests responsibility and must be reported to Chalet-H Team prior to departure.

  25. SUBLEASING: Guest shall not sublet the property.

  26. TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY: Guest expressly acknowledges and agrees that this Agreement is for transient occupancy of Chalet-H and that Guest does not intend to make Chalet-H a residence or household. 

  27. OWNERS PROPERTY: Guest agrees not to access the owners storage area, even if unlocked, which contains the owner’s personal property and may contain cleaning supplies and chemicals that could be hazardous to children and adults.

  28. FIRE EXTINGUISHER: Chalet-H is equipped with a minimum of three (3) fire extinguishers. It is the duty of the Guest to locate fire extinguisher, notify all other occupants of the location, and inform management immediately should the fire extinguisher be missing, or be less or become less than fully charged. The fire extinguishers are located: 1. In the kitchen, 2. By the fireplace, 3. In the technical room in the garage.

  29. SMOKE DETECTORS: Chalet-H has smoke detectors installed and they are believed to function properly at the time of rental. Guest will notify management without delay if detectors are missing, uninstalled, "chirps" or have a low battery condition.

  30. SECURITY: Guest shall see to their own and to Chalet-H security by locking doors, windows, garage doors, etc. when it’s prudent to do so and always when Chalet-H is unoccupied.  

  31. NEW LOCKS OR ALTERATIONS: Guest shall not make or permit to be made any alterations to the Premises or change or add any lock without the prior consent of Chalet-H Team.

  32. LOST ITEMS: Chalet-H Team shall bear no responsibility for lost, stolen or abandoned items. Every reasonable effort will be made to contact the Guest for return. There will be a minimum EUR 25.00 handling charge plus shipping costs for any found items returned at Guests request. Chalet-H Team shall not be held liable for the condition of said items. Any items not claimed for longer than 30 days may be donated or sold.

  33. TV/CABLE/INTERNET/SATELLITE: Services are provided as a convenience only and are not integral to this agreement. No refund of rents shall be given for outages, content, lack of content, speed, access problems, lack of knowledge of use, or personal preferences in regard to service.

  34. HEATING: Chalet-H is not equipped with air conditioning. Doors and windows shall be closed when heat is in operation. There are no refunds for lack of or malfunctioning of heating.

  35. POOL AND SPA: Guest understands that the area surrounding the pool and spa may not be fenced or secure. Guest also understands and agrees to be responsible and liable and will pay Chalet-H Team upon request for any damages that occur to the pool and spa and related systems because of tampering, misuse, and/or negligence.

  36. CHARGING ELECTRIC VEHICLES: Utilizing electrical outlets to charge vehicles is prohibited without preapproval in writing. Guest will assume any and all liability and be subject to additional fees in this event. Any EV charging vehicle should only use the EV charging unit in the garage.

  37. SYSTEM(S) / FURNISHING / AMENITY FAILURES: In the event, the rental Home sustains a failure of a system, including but not limited to water, sewer, septic, electrical, gas, plumbing, mechanical, appliances, heat pump, ventilating, pool, hot tub or other system or structural systems, furnishings or amenities, Chalet-H Team will make every reasonable effort to repair or replace the failed system or equipment, and in such event, Guest agrees to permit Chalet-H Team or its service provider to have reasonable access to Chalet-H to inspect and make such repairs. Neither Chalet-H owner nor the Chalet-H Team shall be liable to Guest for damages, and no refunds will be given for such failures. 

  38. OTHER OCCURRENCES: Chalet-H Team does not accept liability for any loss or damage caused by but not limited to the following: weather conditions, natural disasters, pests, construction disturbances, pandemics, acts of God, or other reasons beyond its control. There shall be no refunds of rents because of shortened stays, ruined expectations, or departures due to work and family emergencies, illness, unavailability of any or all parts of Chalet-H, or any other reasons. It is highly recommended that Guest purchases travel insurance.   

  39. WAIVER OF LIABILITY: for gym, spa, hot tub, pool, sauna, steam room, decks, balconies, railings, bunk beds, etc. herein referred to as Special Features. It is the Guests responsibility to practice and explain safety precautions to other occupants. Guest understands that there are special risks involved for anyone, particularly children who are not carefully supervised, person(s) intoxicated, on any kind of drugs or medication, with health risks, or if pregnant. Guest agrees to explain the risks of the presence and use of Special Features to all occupants at Chalet-H. Guest agrees to instruct all guests on-premises to not access any off-limit or unsafe sections of the property including roof-tops. Swimming pool and spa is not fenced. Guest agrees to assume all responsibility to make all occupants aware of risks and for the consequences of those risks and to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents that may occur. Guest agrees to waive any claim whatsoever against Chalet-H owner or Chalet-H Team for accidents or claims.   

  40. ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The undersigned, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, assignors, executors, and administrators, fully releases and discharges Chalet-H Team and Owner from any and all claims, demands, and causes of action by reason of any injury or whatever nature which may have occurred to the undersigned, or any of his/her occupants or guests as a result of, or in connection with the occupancy of the premises and agrees to hold Chalet-H Team and Owner free and harmless of any claim or suit arising therefrom. In any action concerning the rights, duties, or liabilities of the parties to this agreement, their principals, agents, successors, or assignees the prevailing party shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney fees and costs.

  41. WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS: Any exceptions to the above-mentioned policies must be approved in writing by Chalet-H Team in advance.

  42. DISPUTES: Any disputes under this Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Airbnb Terms and Conditions.
